Privacy policy

Last updated: 3 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data ITManagement101.co.uk collects, why, and what your rights are under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). We keep it short because we collect very little.

Who we are

ITManagement101.co.uk is owned and operated by Garrould Limited (Company Registration Number 06486450). Garrould Limited is the data controller for personal data collected through this site. You can contact us about privacy at sales@itmanagement101.co.uk.

What we collect and why

  • Newsletter sign-ups: your email address (and your name, if you give it), so we can send the newsletter or download you asked for. The lawful basis is your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • Contact form and email: your name, email address and message, so we can reply. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
  • Analytics: pages visited, approximate location, device and browser information, collected through Google Analytics so we can see which articles are useful. This uses cookies. You can refuse or withdraw consent through the cookie message on this site, and block or delete cookies in your browser at any time.
  • Advertising: Google AdSense shows adverts on this site and may use cookies to do so, including personalised adverts where you have agreed to them.
  • Affiliate links: some pages link to retailers through the Amazon Associates programme and the Awin affiliate network. If you click one, the retailer or network records that you came from us so we can earn a commission. We do not receive your name or payment details.
  • Security and hosting: our web host and security software record IP addresses and request details to keep the site running and protect it from attack. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.

We do not sell goods or take payments on this site, so we do not collect payment or delivery details. We do not sell your personal data.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the site: our web host (SiteGround), Google (Analytics and AdSense), our newsletter service (MailPoet), and the Amazon Associates and Awin affiliate programmes. Each processes data only to provide its service. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

We keep newsletter details until you unsubscribe, and contact enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your message. Analytics data is kept according to Google Analytics’ retention settings.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data. You can also object to or restrict how we use it, ask for a copy to take elsewhere, and withdraw consent at any time. To do any of this, email us at the address above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookie policy

Last updated: 3 October 2026

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Under PECR, cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work can be set without consent; other cookies need your consent. When you first visit, a consent message lets you accept or refuse non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time.

Cookies this site uses

  • Strictly necessary: remember your cookie choice and keep the site secure. These cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics (Google Analytics): count visits and show which pages are read, so we can improve the site.
  • Advertising (Google AdSense): serve adverts and measure them, and personalise them if you agree. Google explains how it uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
  • Affiliate links: if you click a link to a retailer such as Amazon, that retailer may set its own cookie on its site to record that you came from us. Those cookies are covered by the retailer’s own policy.

How to control cookies

You can change your consent choice through the cookie message on this site. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the site may then not work as intended.
