These are the blogs I have written about Apple iTunes over the years from it’s initial launch in January 2001 ahead of the launch of the iPod later that year in October 23, 2001 through to how it has evolved into separate apps for Music and Podcasts today.
iTunes is such an important App. Steve Jobs understood the importance of IPR in Music,Video, Games and other entertainment products. He is quoted as saying that PC’s and Mac’s last but a few years while the content (IPR) they were creating at Pixar would live for generations. iTunes as the Apple Services infrastructure became a major foundational component in allowing Apple to monetise services and IPR.
